Guests can certainly bring their own boat to Loons Landing at no charge. There is a boat launch located just west of us at 34620 Aztec Rd, Motley, MN 56466
Yes, you may park the trailer on the front of the property on the grass near the wood pile located to the right of the driveway.
Unfortunately, we do not allow pets at Loons Landing other than service dogs. Therapy and emotional support pets are not considered service dogs. If needed, we can suggest the names of kennels in the area.
Use of our pontoon is included during your stay, we just ask that you only use it during daylight hours and all passengers must have a life vest, adult and youth life vest can be found under the pontoon seats and in the boathouse. We provide a free full tank of gas/oil. If you need more gas than is provided during your stay, there is dockside gas available at Auger’s Pine View Resort just west of Loons Landing. Or you can run to the gas station with one of our provided empty gas tanks- We use premium gas in the Pontoon and we do ask that you return to a full tank of gas after use.
We do rent out the fishing boat for an additional $100/day. Loons Landing is located on the shores of Shamineau Lake, approximately 29 miles east of downtown Brainerd in Minnesota, about a 30-minute easy and scenic drive.
Yes. Pillsbury State Forest is located just a few 23 miles from the lake home with 27 miles of hiking, biking and winter snowmobile trails. In the Gull Lake Area, you can also explore the East Gull Lake Bike Trail and the Paul Bunyan State Trail, which offers 120 miles of beautiful biking between Brainerd and Bemidji. The 75-mile paved Paul Bunyon trail is a popular spot for hiking, biking, in-line skating, and snowmobiling nearby.
All ages are welcomed to Loons Landing. However, guest are not to disturb or disrupt neighbors or residents. The cabin is for individual, family, and corporate type use. If a disrupting situation develops, all guests will be asked to leave immediately without refund. “House Parties” are not allowed. If a house party occurs, occupancy of cabin will be terminated immediately without refund and a fine of $500 will be charged immediately.
